Partners

img_4117Joshua Wallace is the newest member to the Coral Ridge Outreach Department working as the Partner Development Director. Joshua will act as a liaison between the key partners of Coral Ridge and its staff and members. He is passionate in seeing the transformative power of the Gospel radically move throughout South Florida in both word and deed. With a heart for missions locally and abroad he is here to serve as an agent of revitalization in the collaboration to “make all things new!”

God prepared Joshua for this position as he served as the outreach coordinator, evangelism director, and oversaw the Altar Prayer Team at the City Place Campus of Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach County. In August of 2010 Joshua co-led a missions trip to Haiti to share the hope in Christ to a devastated nation, by helping rebuild an orphanage and preaching throughout the local communities. Please contact him with any questions at joshua@crpc.org of how he can best serve your organization or community.

hope-for-south-fl-imageHope South Florida partners with the local church to provide shelter and support services for the homeless in our community. Their mission is to provide hope for homeless and hurting families through services and partnerships within the Christian community.

Hope South Florida and its partner churches are working to Build Hope, Build Housing, and Build Community. They build hope through one-stop service centers where families in need find food, clothes and a counselor that aids them in developing a plan. They are building housing to provide crisis shelter and long-term homes while these people get on their feet. Ultimately the goal is to build community where there are people surrounding them to encourage and create space for lasting relationships.

Churches are empowered as partners to provide meaningful relationships, volunteers for service, practical and financial donations, and leadership. Hope South Florida collectively leads, Churches specifically engage, Congregants generally participate. Visit HopeSouthFlorida.org and click “Join Us :: Volunteer”

hwcHope Women’s Centers’ focal point is helping women through unplanned pregnancies. They are a pro-woman, pro-life, pro-choice faith-based organization. “Choice” is a good word that has unfortunately become synonymous with abortion, and they are proactively changing the meaning of that word. They provide the information and resources necessary to make healthy, biblical choices that affirm life.

In 2006, the Florida department of Vital Statistics reported 15,485 abortions in Broward County. That is over 40 abortions every day in Coral Ridge’s own back yard. Proverbs 24:11-12 says, “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Behold, we did not know this,’ does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?”

As Coral Ridge opens the door to partner with Hope Women’s Centers people will hear, pray, donate and serve. Unborn children’s lives will continue to be saved as the church demonstrates God’s radical grace to the women in crisis. Patty Uhre, Outreach Director, said, “We can’t touch the baby, if we first miss to touch the mother’s heart by building trust and showing compassion.” Romans 10:14 states, “How will they know if no one tells them, how will they hear if no one preaches?” Contact Patty at patty.uhre@thereishope.org for a number of ways you can get involved.

The vision of 4KIDS is “A Home For Every Child in Crisis” and to solve the foster care crisis in our community by partnering with individuals, churches, corporations, government agencies, and foundations.

Churches and church members can become involved in changing children’s lives by becoming a foster or adoptive parent, becoming a Safe Family, participating in 4KIDS events or providing financial and in-kind support. For more information, visit www.4KIDSofSFL.org.

onehope_logoOneHope is an international ministry that presents a biblical message of purpose and hope to young people around the world. This year they will reach nearly 90 million children and youth. Our message is age-specific and contextualized, based on research that we conduct among children and youth, leaders and educators in the countries where we work. Our programs are designed to serve local churches and ministries, so they can help young people engage with scripture. We know it works because we measure and evaluate our programs. And we do all of this so lives are transformed.

OneHope has recognized the need for missionaries not only abroad but in our local community as well. They have undertaken the initiative to engage and inspire 1,000 churches to transform 1,000 communities here in the United States. The first community they chose was Avondale right in Coral Ridge’s back yard.

OneHope has responded to the call to equip and send missionaries around the world. They desire that many missionaries emerge from the Coral Ridge congregation to enter the mission field in the Avondale neighborhood. They are currently implementing a program based on the parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:19 called Neighbors Helping Neighbors. There is a plethora of activities you can engage in to help transform the community. Please contact Ryan Secrest at ryansecrest@onehope.net.

rocketownRocketown is a non-profit organization that reaches out to un-churched youth in South Florida. They have built a fun, intriguing, and safe environment for Christian and non-Christian youth to hang out together and develop relationships. They put on many concerts, play all kinds of games, house an indoor skate park, and have a café where teens can gather.

Rocketown is striving to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ through mentoring relationships while being culturally relevant and eternally significant. They ultimately wish to see the life transforming power of the Gospel shape the lives of these youth so they may impact and influence others.

How Rocketown Works:

The A,B,C,D’s….

Attraction – In the beginning, there is an attraction. Young people come to Rocketown for it’s great music, venue, skate park, cafe and programs.

Building Relationships – Once they are there, they find people who accept them as they are. The staff, volunteers and other peers have created an inviting community.

Connection – Participants find ways to connect through discussion groups, Bible studies, service projects and shared interests. Then, Rocketown tries to connect our youth to local churches and youth groups.

Discovering Purpose – Through creative programs in arts, music and extreme sports, participants discover new interests and develop their talents. They learn skills that help develop a sense of purpose. They find affirmation through one-on-one mentoring.

The church can help this cause first by meeting their greatest need to pray for Rocketown and the youth they are reaching. Also there is a need for volunteers that have a heart for pouring into the lives of youth. Furthermore, they have a large operating budget the church can financially support. If you are interested in getting involved please contact Danny Kanell at dkanell@rocketown.org.
