Financial Assistance

DEACONS BENEVOLENCE FOR CORAL RIDGE MEMBERS

From the moment we first meet with you, we are focused on helping you during the time you are undergoing hardship. We acknowledge that the only one we truly lean on in order to accomplish this is Jesus Christ, and that we are unable to effectively help anyone without Him- spiritually or otherwise.  We offer practical help in a number of ways, including helping you get connected with available resources, assisting with counseling, helping with budgeting, providing emotional and spiritual support, and extending financial aid.

This assistance is temporary in nature. Our goal is to see your situation change over time until you no longer require our assistance. We work towards this end by guiding you to manage your budget responsibly, plan for the future, seek employment, resolve conflicts, mend relationships, seek God’s community, and know and obey God in all areas of your life. We hope you grow closer to the Lord and find the strength, wisdom and grace to experience a deeply changed life.

The Diaconate is funded entirely by the donations of individuals at Coral Ridge. We are therefore accountable to the session and the congregation to be wise stewards of the resources God has given us through His people.  Because our funding is limited, we must review each need and determine how to best apply our resources within the congregation.

1-ON-1 COUNSELING

For those who need individual assistance with specific budget matters, there are opportunities for one-on-one counseling with deacons and elders whose gifts and passions are in helping others to develop strong budgeting skills and responsible handling of their resources.

This ministry is entirely confidential and will give those in need the chance to change their habits and goals to improve their financial situation. It will be a short-term arrangement with the hope that it will enable those in need to get through a tough time and stay on the right track going forward.

The goal of Financial Peace University is not just information—we're looking for transformation. More than one million families have attended FPU with amazing results. On average, they pay off $5,300 in debt and save $2,700 in just 90 days.  Class members meet with their class each week to watch a video lesson and participate in discussion groups. Dave's style is simple and easy to understand. He will change the way you think about money. You'll actually have fun as you learn!  Classes begin on September 13, from 6:30pm-8:30pm in the Welcome Center Meeting Room.
